The fact is that the "meja" pick their friends has something to do withit as a start, the fact he might lose the Jewish dollar is what Murdochs apology is about.
Nothing should have been said, we live in a free society and each to his own.

/had it been Jews being gassed in the ovens at Auschwitz/
but it's not em! what's that got to do with the price of chips
/I really can't see the point of it. /
star - a simple explanation - it's a political cartoon lampooning Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu (not the jewish race) for his policy of continued expansion on Palestinian land backed by armed force and violence.

cartoons don't have to be amusing, they can be satirical too.....and this one is.
The subject is fine if a little gruesome but that can appear with political satire. That, in itself, will be distasteful to some.
However, the timing of this one leaves a lot to be desired and, as has been implied, Wendi has made Rupee apologise already. There was also a meeting this morning between Newsday officials and the Jewish Council for a face-to-face apology.
End of matter but it will be one of those things that will roll on. Is there a Jewish equivalent of a fatwa to put on Scarfe?

Thanks for the explanation Zeuhl. I try to avoid news items if I can and I am sorry to say I did not understand what was going on. I decided a couple of years ago that I would not watch the news as it was so depressing. Before that I was a news junkie and would watch both lots of news besides reading the newspaper and even watching the world news. I decided at 82 I wouldn't watch what I could do nothing about and so stopped. Now approaching 86 so hope you will forgive my ignorance and thanks again for the explanation.
/it's anything but unworthy, nasty/
sorry em
i thought politicians were pretty fair game without people getting all precious on their behalf
especially when the politician in question has blood on their hands or at the very least has, as you rightly described, a share in the blame for a lot of bloodshed and misery.
