Could Teresa May gain advantage for the Tories over the other parties who have yet to elect a female leader?

/// Fed up of this Simon Heffer detour. My last post on him. ///

And who's faulty 'sat nav' took us on that de-tour?

I was simply quoting an article written on Margaret Thatcher by Simon Heffer, it was you who chose to personally insult him.
If Mrs May can stand for this possible candidature, so can Mrs Overall.
Drifting into the realms of fantasy there, surely? Mrs O has always struck me as a women far too decent and humane to be a Tory.
// I would have thought that the strong female element on Answerbank would have given it more support //

Maybe they are judging on merit not gender?

/// Take your pick. ///

Exactly the same searches I came up with, still no concrete evidence from anyone of authority, plenty of 'Sacked one's, seeing that you chose SIMON HEFFER SACKED BY TELEGRAPH as your search words.

But these are mainly left-wing blogs such as Guy Fawke's Blog and Pan Scourer..

I should go and wash your nose Sandy.
I'd love to see a female PM and a female leader of the opposition.
That would make the PM question time more interesting .
Unfortunately Labour will never have a female leader the unions would never alow it.

And isn't it the unions who seem to be forever fighting for equal rights?
Margaret Beckett was Deputy Labour Leader. There hasn't really been a Female Labour politician in recent times hat has deserved the job on merit.

There have been plenty of female Union leaders.
In that case AOG, I shall refrain from saying that it sounded a tad patronising to me.
When Labour were choosing a successor to Brown in 2009, the female candidate was Diane Abbott. Lucky escape I'd say.
What short memories some of the UK public have. It is the fault of the last female dictator ,THATCHER . That we are all in the Financial crisis we are in now.
Yes, Yes, Yes BayBot1 yoyyare so right.

Thatcher gets dumped by her party 23 years ago but everything is still her fault. Genius.
It might be easier for a woman in this case as they don't have to adhere to Masonic rules or old school tie syndrome. They can just do their own thing no matter who they trample over in the process.
Gromit yes, yes, yes. I am so right ,the Iron lady is now rusting away ,corrosion has now set in .The Lady is not for turning , Also thank you for your compliment, Genius??? Guess it will take another 23 years to recover from all her mistakes ,,,GOD Bless the bankers , Loads of money...
Pint ot whatever BayBoy1 is drinking for me, thanks.

Yes they must be a class act to follow, those such as Callaghan, Blair and Brown.
Well Blair at least was certainly a great party leader whatever you think of his policies - first time Labour has won three successive elections is no mean achievement. Callaghan and Brown on the other hand...
think it was the cheesy boyish grin that did it for Blair, oh those were the days...
Why are we so obsessed about the sex of our politicians. I couldn't care less if the next leader of any of our parties is a one-legged, mixed-race, albino, transvestite !

We should be concentrating on the persons abilities, not what they have between their legs !

Did all those feminists burn their bras for nothing ?
