/// Her life is funded by the taxpayer, yet privately educated Ms Minkin – who before her divorce lived in a £1.6million seven-bedroom house complete with housekeeper – claims every day is a struggle. ///

Apparently this woman does.

How can this be fair when some are to be forced to accept 'Food Stamps' from next week?

Would that be gross or net of tax?
Give me £70k and I'll let you know in a years time.
Gross..........
Sorry but do you have a link to the first part of your question so that I can see the full context of it.

Thank you
It depends on what one's outgoings and one's expectations are based on 'life so far'

Who is Ms Minkin anyway? I can't see a link
Unless you are a complete fantasist £70k is ample. As for food stamps, great idea, stops them spending it an white lightening and snout! Should be the norm, then perhaps the work shy would consider supporting themselves.
well i cope on a deal less, though only just...
Craft...thanks....so tax would have to be paid.
The Cohiba cigars would have to go....the Premier Grand Cru would be for weekends only and i would have to travel economy class....but...well.....in a word........YES.
Ah but you've no rent to pay sqad..........
danger, please don't lump all benefit claimants as scroungers, sick to death of hearing it quite honestly.
I don't know who Ms Minkin is or her circumstances, but £70K before tax is not much to run a household on in the South East of England particularly with children

It certainly wouldn't afford a 'luxurious' lifestyle
I could manage very well on it thanks.
Cohiba cigars??

Who used to smoke a lot of those??
me too Em.

£70k a year gross or net is a lot of moolah.

Isn't education a wonderful thing, all I had to do was to type Ms Minkin in the Google search box, and what do you think popped up?
