Would You Find It A Struggle Managing On £70,000 Per Year?
47 Answers
/// Her life is funded by the taxpayer, yet privately educated Ms Minkin – who before her divorce lived in a £1.6million seven-bedroom house complete with housekeeper – claims every day is a struggle. ///
Apparently this woman does.
How can this be fair when some are to be forced to accept 'Food Stamps' from next week?

What's sad is that she is just one of thousands. What's sadder is whatever David Cameron says nothing will be done to stop it. When is the £26,000 max benefits per family supposed to start, or has that scheme been scrapped?.

/Benefits she receives are equivalent to earning £70,000 a year before tax/
OK
That's a dodgy piece of shorthand.
It seems to actually mean that there is a tipping point; until a salary of £70K is attained her family would be no better off than they are now
Even with three kids, uni fees, private sector house rental in St Albans, council tax etc
I would be interested in seeing the actual numbers before i was convinced of that

/all I had to do was to type Ms Minkin in the Google search box, and what do you think popped up? /

pretty much the same story, she shouldn't have said anything perhaps, and certainly not on national tv.

/£1400 a MONTH housing benefit !!!!!! /
One of my cousin's is currently renting a modest little house in Loughton Essex for £2,500 a month
That's what rentals cost
What happened to all the social housing?
O yeah I remember, Mrs T sold them all and rigged the system so local authorities couldn't replace them.
That's turned out to be very good value I must say
