Where on earth was her torch? This case needs to be thrown out before it wastes the money we have paid in taxes. Utter nonsense!
Yes, ol, a big subject and one on which I think you and I entirely agree.
The biggest mistake was renaming it a police "service". Most people like the idea of a police "force" staffed by officers of above average height and build. It helps them sleep soundly in their beds. The idea of the police force is the prevention and detection of crime. But it is suggested that the burglary victim "failed to take proper care" of PC Jones. Strangely I thought it was the job of police officers to take care of burglary victims but, as Greavesie used to say to Saint, "It's a funny old world".
If PC Jones is dopey enough to trip over a kerb which, from the photograph, seemed quite prominent and she is even more dopey to make a song and dance about it in order to claim a bit of compo (about two years wages) she does not deserve her warrant card. But it seems she is not alone:

These examples are the tip of the iceberg of the nonsense that goes on in the modern 'service' New Judge. Like I suggested, the wrong people getting the wrong jobs for the wrong reasons (filling quota's) and they behave like this, what an absolute insult to the victims of this commercial burglary. And the senior ranks are no better due to the same problem with the selection process for promotion.
I would have recommended some police-blogs, so you can see what front-line officers are saying really goes on but the good ones have been closed down (for the obvious reasons). If interested try and get hold of the three books mentioned in this thread http:// www.the answerb ank.co. uk/Soci ety-and -Cultur e/Quest ion1228 316.htm l
