Good scheme?
Would you fly with a carrier that wanted to weigh you?
Will Ryan Air be annoyed at being beated to the idea?

I can fully understand that this would be discriminatory and humiliating when looked at from the human view but on the other hand why should a 9 stone person have to pay for a bag that's 3 kg overweight and 20 stone person with a bag within weight not have to? After all isn't the whole weight on a plane issue directly related to the amount/cost of fuel needed?

that;s the problem, they cram as many onto the planes as possible, steerage class really, if you can afford to fly business or first class, which most can't, then you are stuck. I had the misfortune to sit next to a very large bloke, wide as well as tall, on a long haul, and it was the most uncomfortable flight i can remember.
