Would disrespectful cartoons such as this be allowed if other political dignities such as Nelson Mandela happened to die?

I have always been a fan of Mrs T, but I am also a keen advocate of free speech.

If someone wants to print this and someone wants to read it then it's fine. Personally I dislike cartoons of this nature when it involves the dead, but there you go, some do like it so no it should not be banned.

Just remember how outraged many were at the protests of cartoons of Allah. Do we want to be like them and ban everything? No is my answer.
it isn't nice, but what does one expect i suppose, It isn't that one should revere her, but this is unnecessary, and no i don't find it amusing..
I wouldn't worry about it. In the great scheme of things cartoons don't manage to get off the ground floor of importance.
Probably just a small disrespectful minority

Any idea why Ding Dong the witch is dead is in the top 10 again?

A Judy Garland revival I guess
if NM did die AOG I would not be having a party to celebrate, I hope I would have some decorum, despite my abhorance at this terrorist, I would like to think I'd refrain from the sort of Vitriol we have had to endure following the death of our greatest peace time leader.
I think it's sad, and disrespectful to this dead lady.
Danger - an abhorrance for nelson mandela?

now that would be an intresting thread. ;)
Yes
I am reminded as to why I left the UK, it seems to have more than it's fair share of sad and bitter people who can't see that bearing a grudge does no-one any good. Ganging up on a corpse is truly unheroic.
/despite my abhorance at this terrorist/

PMSL at that one danger

Probably not 'Leftie school teachers' danger, but precisely whose brainwashing have you succumbed to?

After years of ruthless suppression for his legal stance against Apartheid, NM co-founded MK:

from wikipedia:

/Operating through a cell structure, the MK agreed to acts of sabotage to exert maximum pressure on the government with minimum casualties, bombing military installations, power plants, telephone lines and transport links at night, when civilians were not present.

uncovering paperwork documenting MK's activities, some of which mentioned Mandela... Mandela and his comrades being charged with four counts of sabotage and conspiracy to violently overthrow the government. Their chief prosecutor was Percy Yutar, who called for them to receive the death penalty/

For you a terrorist
For most reasoning people - a freedom fighter with principles

The Guardian and the Independent, both the 'Nasty Left', pity we still do not have politicians with the guts to stand up to the Left and bring them down.

triggs, I gather there was a hashtag around saying #nowthatcherisdead, causing alarm and despondency among Cher's many admirers.

aog, in case you don't recognise it, that's a quote from Ginger Rogers, about Fred Astaire: Everything he did I did, but I had to do it backwards and in heels.
not exactly peaceful thought was it, and no i didn't agree with apartheid, it was appalling, but he is no more a saint than MT.

What a pity that such important matters are dumbed down to silly name calling and a childish mickey mouse concept of the World
as silly and childish as those swigging champagne and chanting at her death, most not even born when she left office, let alone be affected by anything she might have done.
Can you imagine all the gushing and crying from all corners of the world when Nelson Mandela does die? It will certainly put all this reaction to Margaret Thatcher in the shade, it will be nauseating and embarrassing.

Its Ironic that if it hadn't been for Margaret Thatcher, Nelson Mandela and his comrades would have been executed.
