i wonder whether anyone likes this type of modern design, or would you go for the more traditional type grand house, that is if you won that much money.

to be honest, from the outside it looks like an alien creature has landed. personally I would go for a more traditional house but it would have to have an integrated swimming pool and be very close to a sandy beach on the English coast.

Well if everybody wanted a mock-tudor footballers manion the world would be very dull.
They're also likely to be able to bypass planning permisiion with this design via the replacement to 'Gummers law'

What we like asthetically tends to be formed by our experience and what is familiar and comforting to us.
It's OK but it reminds me a bit too much of what people in the 70s might have thought a future home would look like

Christopher Wren didn't get the Cathedral he wanted, that was far more classical Greek in design than what eventually got built. However i am not a modernist in the architectural sense, i loathe The Shard for instance, some like it i know, but it just looks so out of place, pity the poor souls that had to put up with the disruption whilst it was being built.
