I have listened to many Question Times and interviews concerning any referendum and no one ever asks the pro EUs the simple question.
"Are you satisfied to leave the EU and it's Institutions as they are now without any changes ? "

Again and again the pros. say " We don't need a referendum because we all have agreed there will be one automatically: 'If there is a 'Tangible' change in the present treaty.
By implication as long as there isn't a 'Tangible ' change, they are happy to leave it as it is.
There have been any number of changes over the past few years , including the one Cameron refused to sign, but apparently none of them have been considered Tangible.
Had it not been for UKIP Cameron would still be hiding behind that word and still is to avoid having one before 2017.

Over the next 4 years there will be several new members but as long they sign up to the present treaties , that wont be a change that will be termed Tangible.

we should, we won't. More hapless countries will join in, more hapless economies will drag down those remotely more buoyant, and more rules and regulations will come out because that is what they are good at.

No.
What are the possible consequences ? I don't know-do you ?
we will fall into hellfire and be damned for all eternity, apparently.

The main reason for us to stay in according to the pros is that 40% of our exports go to Europe which may be true but 65% of our imports come from Europe so they are not going to risk that trade by putting tariffs on us.

Do you think BMW is going to risk a trade war with us . The same goes for the whole EU car market . They are not going to lose out to Asia.
i can understand both sides of the coin, but we have like many countries, been hogtied, the original concept of the EEC was a good one, but that has morphed into a bureaucratic nightmare. I wonder how our standing with US, our so called special friendship would hold up if we left.. Obama seems in favour of our staying in and a United Europe. Thing is that is what annoys me the most, a Federal United States of Europe with Germany at it's head... then more tinpot countries joining, they should take a lesson from the Greek debacle before admitting more to the family.
If everybody else is trying to join the EEC, I'm not sure why we would want to leave ?
We should leave, full stop.
it isn't the EEC, that is long gone, and the reason the little boys want to join the big boys is they know they will get loads of help when things go pear shaped, what they don't realise of course is it comes with a price.
Why naomi24 ?
Because it's gone far beyond what we signed up to.

It's the nobodies who want to join. Poverty stricken east European countries. Tiny countries who want supporting. Malta , Cyprus, . T

cont . Turkey is having second thoughts . Norway and Switzerland wouldn't touch it with abarge pole. What country of any repute has joined in the past 20 odd years ? Ireland now wishes they hadn't. As do the bankrupt Med countries but for the moment can't.
It's all very well the Americans saying we should stay, but I wonder if they would willingly be told what to do by such an organisation as the eu.I very much doubt it.
It's for reasons like this that I really do hope there is a referendum at some point soon. I'd vote yes (or at least would if the referendum were held tomorrow) but hopefully will be open to persuasion otherwise. It's important I think to have this debate and discuss it properly.

mikey // If everybody else is trying to join the EEC//
I forgot to mention another reason why the smaller ones and even Turkey want to join. They want the protection of Nato and to distance themselves from Russia. This is a major reason why Armenia wants to join. As it is there are 8 countries all weak and dodgy waiting to get in, and we are going to pick up the tab. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-11283616

Well, it gives us something to talk about I suppose. Thanks for the link. It might not be being censored -- probably just isn't working for some reason.
