It would seem that equality is finally becoming the norm in Britain today.

Ummmm, they don't want to get married. They want a Civil Partnership. I think that option would also be beneficial to others ... like siblings or friends sharing their homes and lives.

most of the lefties on here describe anybody that wont bow to their ideology on anything as a bigot amongst other things.

its their way or no way, we are all equal...as long as you see it their way :/

It really depends on the reason for opposing it. There are some fairly bigoted reasons which have gained some currency.

The Kirk bases its teachings on the bible where homosexual behaviour is frowned on. The charge of hypocrisy might fairly be levelled at an organisation which now wants to ignore inconvenient bits of their blueprint for salvation.

I very much doubt it. I would say he's referring to the real bigots. Not just the people that happen to not agree with a few issues.
