I read this morning that PM Dave and his family had gone on their holidays to Ibiza., At a time when there is terrorist alerts, tensions following the Woolwich murder and a COBRA alert which denotes an emergency.

Bad timing Mr Prime Minister . . .

But wait . . . everything will be fine, Nicky Clegg is running the country now!

Where do you live fgt and how many times have you driven down the 127?
Sorry Twizzel but I used to drive down it every day for 10 years and there was always some sort of incendent and then more recently I have driven down it on 5 occassions and 3 of them there were problems
goodness knows what anyone thinks he would achieve if he was two hours closer to London. Fine by me if a PM takes a break; his presence or absence won't stop terrorism in its tracks. He's got a Home Secretary.
^ ^ ^ Theresa May doesn't exactly fill me with confidence
and Cameron does? Fighting terror isn't a politician's job, they're just there to make sympathetic noises and set up inquiries if it looks as if anyone's really screwed up.
what can he do here that he cant do there

dont they have telephony out there, not to mention internet, video conferencing etc
I also don't see the problem. He is a family man after all.
huh, I wonder if all those Mirror readers thinking he should holiday here to boost the economy would consider doing the same themselves?
Well if the chavs can come then so can he, btw, that is not Benirras beach he is on!
He is a family man, he has a job (whether one agrees with it or not) and he's entitled to his holiday.
and do you know what, we actually have a telephone system and internet on this island these days, so he could still be in touch with Britain, but why would he?
Had him over for drinky-poos, nettie? (I inferred that on the last page.....)
Invite him round for chorizo and chips Neti ...tell him you're an editor and the Queen of Ibiza ,and you might get a gong .Don't forget to wear your tiara :)
No princess references though - that wouldn't do anglo-spanish relationships much good I would think
nothing anglo-spanish about me, I am ibi-english. Tell you if I see him, he's gonna know how to party.
sir prize //Bad timing Mr Prime Minister . . . // What a petty thread ..!
What do you want him to do ? His security team have an open line 24/7.

The last thing the Woolwich police want is having to divert resources to protect any politician.
I hope he doesn't have to borrow your wonky internet connections, netibiza. World peace may be at stake here.

modeller - don't play your alter ego Grumpy. It's just a topical newspaper covered story and so far raised 37 responses on this 'petty' thread.

Modeller - don't be petty.
modeller, we actually also have good Guardia Civil who will and can protect DC if necessary, and they are not soft, just as long as the PM has his EHC health card with him!
