Labour Feeding From The Trough
// The Sunday Telegraph reports Patrick Mercer convinced Keith Vaz, Valerie Vaz, Julien Brazier, Mark Field and Fabian Hamilton to join his Fiji APPG. And the Sunday Times has stung Lords Laird, Cunningham & MacKenzie.
“Lord Cunningham, Lord Mackenzie of Framwellgate and Lord Laird offered to become paid advocates for a firm pushing for new laws to benefit its business. They also said they could set up an all party parliamentary group as a lobbying vehicle.” //
The name of Vaz cropping up again in corruption allegations is no surprise.
Looking like a bad week for policians of all parties.
We do seem to elect a Great deal of rogues to Parliament. do we get the politicians we deserve?

In practice it has been found that when salaries go up , so does the amount of sickness leave, especially on Mondays, and in the public services where they get paid when off 'sick' , the amount of 'sickness' soars. In industry it was found output actually dropped following big pay rises. It needed mechanisation to bring the level back up.
Do you really believe that if you paid MPs more they would work any harder or longer. The truth is, at an election they get 10 times more ,would be candidates, than there are seats, and once in they never resign unless forced to.
Two years ago doctors were given big rises and shorter hours and what difference did it make. It's now almost impossible to get home visits and waiting lists are on the increase.

It was more than 2 years ago as it was under a Labour Government.....I am suggesting a big rise AND the same amount of hours AND no expenses.
That would be a better deal for the electorate in my opinion.
