Whereas it was completely wrong for a pregnant woman to be attacked by two men, In a separate incident Was it right for the French police to be attacked by a mob of 60 for enforcing the French burkha ban?

Gosh, all those Muslims must be making a huge difference! The Irish must be absolutely swamped with them ! And at those rates, which cover every race and religion here, when exactly will Muslims here outnumber the rest?
On all available figures, allowing for any higher birth rate among immigrants, there is no way that Muslims can outnumber the rest in future, but your post, chrisgel, does speak to a wider fear, that , whatever their numbers, there will be far more jihadists and fundamentalist Muslims making louder, and possibly more effective, claims for their ways to be accommodated.
FredPuli, it seems to me the number of radical Muslims grows each time the west launches a crusade against a Muslim country. I can't imagine why this should be. The latest step, it seems, is to take action against a secular regime in Syria, presumably in the hope that any Islamic group we arm will subsequently look kindly on us. This may be highly moral but it seems like lousy politics and I hereby predict no good will come of it.
jno, most people in UK don't want to interfere in these countries, most people have seen what happens when the politicians take these decisions, then of course you get the bleating, oh we can't let the people be slaughtered, so we must help by sending arms. they must make up their minds, either we stay out completely of any conflict, be it Syria, Afghanistan, or we go in, my choice would be never meddle, it has come to bite us every time. And fed the fanatics amongst us with a fervour they didn't have before, or simply an excuse to cause chaos on our shores, which is simple enough to do, we have seen that with the murders on 7/7 and the death of the poor soldier Lee Rigby.
I am opposed to any intervention, but i do find disturbing is how some on AB say we should send arms to the rebels, just who are they, and how do we know those arms won't end up being turned against us.

Fred, the bit about the Fatwa in Ireland down the page makes interesting reading. One would hope the Irish as a whole wouldn't stand for any nonsense.
