How do you feel about this? Theresa May has approved funding for it.

i have my own thoughts too. I think were all clutching at straws.

i dont think Madeline will ever be found, and i hope and pray that i am proved wrong.
It must be galling for the mother whose blond-haired toddler son was lifted from that Greek island all those years ago - she has still never given up hope, but nobody's reopening investigations into that abduction.
boxy........exactly
Agree with you boxy.
Ben Needham is the toddler you mention boxtops. You can hardly criticise anyone else if you can't even remember his name.
Who am I criticising, daffy?
I note they don't say how much funding has been approved - they've already spent £5 million on this.

I'm not convinced that continuing to spend money on this is in the public interest.

Of course it might be in the interest of the Theresa May's get-me-elected-as-leader-of-the-Tory-party campaign
I have tried several times to type answer to this question but can't find the words to say what I really feel about it. So I will say nothing.
I do believe this little girl was dead very quickly after '' disappearing ''
I don't want to go into all the answers here - but let's face it why whoever did it take Madeline and not the twins as well. That baffles me.
The first people they should haul in for questioning is her parents, it wasn't just a one off that they left their kids unattended
I truly believe that many police forces around the world will be reviewing their historical cases of child abduction/disapearance based on the appalling but thankfully happily concluded events in the US when the 3 girls were found living in that ordinary suburban house.
Elvis I find your comments dreadful.
Craft, the comments may be dreadful but true. How could they leave three children alone, what's wrong with taking them with you?.
They were just eating a short distance away in the complex, hardly the image of leaving them alone. The McCann's and me can't be the only parents that have looked in hindsight at the times we've left children unattended. That will haunt them forever.
I don't really know what I think; on the one hand, if things really were not done properly in the original investigation then I think they should be followed up on and re-looked at. On the other hand, I don't think it's right that so much attention and money goes in to this one case if the same isn't given to all cases like it.

I honestly don't know.
Maybe a short distance away but never the less they were out of sight . Put it this way, would you leave a few thousand pounds and your passport in an unlocked apartment abroad? I don't think so.

Leah/Elvis that question has been done to death. Please don't turn this thread into a knocking the McCanns thread, that's not what it's about.

And Ben Needham hasn't been forgotten. I saw the programme last year where a team from South Yorks police went out to Greece and along with the Greek police searched an area that they believed might contain Ben Needham's remains. I've C&P'd this next bit - On 19 October 2012 Greek police, assisted by a team of specialist search advisers from South Yorkshire Police, began an operation to examine the grounds of the property from which Ben disappeared. The operation, involving geophysical survey equipment, forensic archaeologists and Human Remains Detection (HRD) dogs, was triggered by a police line of inquiry that Ben had been accidentally buried by an excavator driver dumping ........

So not forgotten.
Fair enough ladybirder, but in reply to craft, my comment is not dreadful, they left them unattended most nights before she went missing, Kate has even said Madeline asked why they never came when the twins were crying the night before.

Prudie it wasn't just a short distance away, and perhaps most parents aren't like you and leave their kids unattended

Why take a family holiday and stick the kids in the "Kids Club" every day and leave them alone most nights?
I have said before on here that the original Portuguese police investigation was at best hopelessly incompetent . If it had happened in the UK I am pretty sure she would have been found in hours.
