A Lesson Not Learnt
Jeremy Forrest mouthing I LOVE YOU in court to the underage pupil he had an affair and absconded to France with shows he either doesn't appreciate what he's done wrong or doesn't care. So IMO he deserves a very long sentence until at the very least he gets it into his thick head why such a relationship is wrong. The fact that the girl apparently responded the same way, also apologising and pledging to wait til he's free is not such a concern as she is an infatuated child. By the time Forrest gets out she may well have moved on, though if she is allowed to visit him in jail that will perpetuate an illicit romance for the Media. I've also been disturbed by glowing references Forrests fellow teachers gave to help his case, which surely condone his actions and therefore also make those teachers unsuitable for their jobs. Surely Forrest should never be allowed anywhere near a school again. what do you think?

All those trying to mitigate Forrest's actions by blaming the parenting, the school, anyone else or any organisation are shooting themselves in the foot! In doing so they admit this man's grotesque guilt, and they should applaud the court's findings. For an adult man, teacher or not, to "fall in love" with a 14-15 year-old girl is a danger to society if that...

While SIQ went rather overboard, I still think he has a point. To be sure, against murder and rape and other such crimes this one pales into almost insignificance, but that doesn't stop Forrest from being a real criminal just as much as a murderer is. Moreover, details are emerging that suggest that there is more to this case to incriminate Forrest still further -- such as getting the girl to change her testimony through a third party, and perhaps even having been with or tried to solicit other young girls. In particular the girl only claimed that she was suicidal at the court case and not during the initial interview, so this may be a fabrication designed to make Jeremy Forrest look "trapped".
Of course, all these details may end up being untrue so I won't swear by them -- they are currently just allegations. But if they turn out to be true then it paints a black picture of this man, and would make him less silly and more sinister.

Naomi24,
I reject your explanation of your post referring to my submission.
I said "Posts saying we are all human are laughable in this case OF BLATANT, KNOWING AND PERSISTENT CRIMINALITY".
In your post you deliberately omit my words now in capitals with your: "I can't find anything remotely laughable in this case just terribly sad". This partial quoting is disgraceful perhaps attempting to demean me and make you appear holier than us two (atheists, lol).
Your immediate follow-up "silly, silly man" certainly appears to apply to me and I object to your lack of clarity.
Further, your claim that your "silly man" applied to Forrest reveals a pathetic response to this monsterous criminal's actions. Very "pythonesque" if you remember "The Life of Brian".
