Would this type of thing be beneficial to children as young as five, or only create confusion?

*rolls eyes* Would "same-sex adoptive parenting" be any better for you?

Some of my cousins have stepfathers -- also known as parents. It's the same thing.
But it happens so it isn't 'impossible'. What you mean is a life cannot be created without a male and female being involved somewhere, which is fine, but it's not really relevant to parenting in the sense it's being discussed I don't think.
"I haven't particularly thought about the promotion of same sex parenting, I just know it's impossible".
No it isn't, as has already been explained: the definition of "parent" also includes non-breeding ones.
I think you're taking the p!ss but I don't mind carrying on explaining - over to you.
I'm not taking the piss actually, but you obviously don't agree. Parents to me are a man and a woman, but that would appear to be an outdated way of thinking.
Think how mental things will be when there are babies that have three parents (two mothers and a father)!

So basically this is just your long-winded way of getting the old "Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve" point across. How quaint.
...BTW I'd have been happy to not agree if you'd just spat it out earlier rather than being manipulative.
AP that is nasty and so not true, you are just stirring things. There are many same sex couples who are doing a marvellous job of parenting, but to describe them as the only parents is patently not true.
What about the 2 ladies who had a child (obviously with 3rd party involvement) who then tried to shut him out of any contact with the child?
This paper and its references probably ought to be required reading:

"to describe them as the only parents is patently not true"
Please explain where you think I did this.

That is being nasty.............

You gave the impression that you are a 'traditionalist' when it comes to being a parent ie. that you believe that a child should only be raised by their biological mother and father:
"Parents to me are a man and a woman, but that would appear to be an outdated way of thinking"
Not "nasty" maybe misunderstood.
"ramming gayness in their little faces"
Oh don't make me vomit - how inflammatory can you get!
To me parents are a man and a woman, tell me why that thinking is so wrong.

"To me parents are a man and a woman, tell me why that thinking is so wrong".
Who said it was?
...and I'm still unclear about why you think my "Adam and Steve" comment was nasty - please explain.
...aaaaand she's scuttled off. Another one who is out of their depth, it seems.
