They obviously thought there was a good chance he wouldn't kill anyone else, but not being sure, the only way to know for sure was to let him out and see what happened.

He must have said he was really sorry about the other murders and promised not to do it again. I bet they're kicking themselves they fell for that old chestnut.

I wonder how many people have died because convicted murderers have been released,or put it another way ,how many people would be alive today if we still had the death penalty in the uk.

Moan about the death penalty all you want but the fact is the UK doesn't have the death penalty....and I doubt that will ever change.

He's probably upset because he made a bad judgement. Still, he can console himself with the thought that it wasn't anyone he cared about that the bloke murdered. That would have been much worse.
