Now that all the defence and prosecution has finished, I have not read how the girl in question who was raped etc, came to be in the company of Le Vell.

Was she and her mother a neighbour or known to him in some other way?

I'm also confused about the case as i thought the CPS had decided months ago there was insufficient evidence, is this a private prosecution? whatever that might be.

you are making some assumption that the girl is lying, and that others on here wouldn't know what it is to be abused, i suggest that is not the case, some have been and have said so. so their experiences would be surer than yours.

not sure what you mean emmie? Why would someone else's input be 'surer' than another person's, maybe some people have said they were abuse victims but others who maybe were too perhaps haven't wanted to say so on the web.

I have no idea whether the girl is lying or not. All I said was (merely commenting) that I found it strange to go and do work experience at his workplace.

Dot, that was a couple of years ago when the allegations first came to light and the CPS did not proceed due to lack of evidence and no realistic prospect of a prosecution.

The victim has since made further allegations.

oh, maybe she didn't remember the other ones when she first made the claim, maybe her mum helped her remember, took her to a hypnotist or something. Wonder why she waited until the CPS wouldn't proceed to remember other matters.

With her accepting work experience on Corrie do you not agree that if she'd refused questions would be asked? At that age the last thing you want is questions being asked....

The CPS originally said there was insufficient evidence to proceed with a trial.
After all the criticism of the Jimmy Saville victims not being taken seriously, the CPS changed its mind.

I'm as confused as the OP. I haven't read much about this case, but my first question was how did he obtain access to a child of 6 in the middle of the night? If it transpires that these accusations are false, I feel very sorry for him indeed.

That was the point I was making, Viv. It's not all doom and gloom for him and his life will not forever ruined if he is found not guilty.
