Jobs on television as presenters are hardly jobs for life. I can't see how he would think they are. I agree with most of the other posters here. He's a bit of a clown.

I think he's probably telling the truth. Producers like their frontmen to be "characters". But sooner or later they change theri minds. I expect whether he wins or not will depend on what's in his contract; as sandyRoe says, TV seldom gives jobs for life (though when they do, it's always to men).
