You don't get blackboards any more - what you have now is an interactive whiteboard, which you project on and do all sorts of other whizzy things. I haven't seen a blackboard in years.

That's a toy one then? Chalkboard is fine by me, you have to use chalk on it.
Now known as "Whiteboards" at Grandson's School, also "Baa Baa Black Sheep" is now known as "Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep",where will this ridiculous Politically Correct rubbish end? It's a wonder they haven't changed the names of Blackpool,Blackburn and many other places beginning with Black.
Rainbow sheep doesn't scan..... How stupid, the black sheep of the family is always the odd one out. Hang on, odd one out because of its colour...? oh dear.
So are we soon going to have to buy dark colourless paint and light colourless paint then, it's a board and it's black, what on earth is wrong with calling it a black board, after all that is what it is.

the boards at grandson's school might actually be white hence the change of name.

I don't understand how you sing it, Rainbow just doesn't fit the tune.

well but boxy has a good point on this one, whatever the origins of the rhyme, a black sheep is definitely in common usage an outsider or one who is not acceptable to the rest of the flock and is marked out because of or by its colour....I agree about rainbow sheep being silly, but is the rhyme of such value that it can't be dropped entirely and another one sung instead?
in ye olden days.............there was a paint called ni**er brown ! at primary school we gave a donation to the '' black babies'' every Friday .
jordy. I think you are nearly as old as jeff chandler !
