Typical tory claptrap cause the suffering and blame previous. These people (who were not elected) have no compassion, benevolence or heartfelt regret. They are simply there to put us back where they want us (19thcentury) while the smug bastards live a life of carefree and pampered luxery, off the backs of society. That is their role in life and they aim to...

And you really believe that Labour will be successful in making such companies pay up?

How long have Amazon and Starbucks been around, surely they were around during Labours 13 years in power, if so why didn't they make them pay up in all those years?
Those on low incomes are increasingly denied the same health care, and access to justice in legal matters as more money is saved through cuts, and we move to a society that is a jungle with the survival of the financially fittest.
The basics should be available to all, justice, health etc but the uncaring Tory voters are suffering from, "I'm alright Jack syndrome"
Good to see you Theland.
Sorry I appreciate that there are people out there that have recieved a raw deal from ATOS but there are thousands more that have had their benefits stopped because they can get their buts to work.

There are thousands of people out there are getting benefits where they don't need it but have been allowed to for years to continue claiming.

Sorry but carry on ATOS.
Theland

\\\\Those on low incomes are increasingly denied the same health care, \\\

Are they?.Can you give me an example?

//Maybe by getting companies like Starbucks and Amazon who make profits in this country to pay the taxation that the country expects them to pay.

£32 billion is the estimated gap between expected and gathered tax //

They did not break any laws, they took advantage of a tax gap set up by previous government - how do you expect the tax to be gathered when legally there is no tax owed?
if you have been through this nightmare you will know just how bad it is.
its a deeply flawed system and was from the start.
\\\\\\ They are simply there to put us back where they want us (19thcentury) while the smug bastards live a life of carefree and pampered luxery, off the backs of society.

Too bloody right and just you remember that Steve.
unless you have gone on the treadmill of this system you can have no idea how complex it is, and if you look at the figures of those who win appeals, and that process is tortuous, it's a lot. Then you get on the treadmill and do it all again, gaining more money for this insidious company.
FGT, yes indeed ATOS will carry on regardless of the many documentaries showing the flawed system.

I agree that their assessments will have removed some lazy articles and encouraged them back to work, but the sheer inaccuracies that occur in their reporting of your visit is alarming to say the least.

Scenatio 1 for example.

'Please hop on the couch'

'I cannot it is too high'

They lower the couch and help me on.

Report says.

Mrs X, got on the couch with no difficulty or complaint.

So carry on ATOS, keep your bonuses along the way and get a few workshy whilst you are at it.

PS

I could write a chapter but you get the drift.
i could write a book mamy, but why when you have some who tell you how it is without ever going through it. assessments can be cursory, and leave you with no opportunity to say anything, and there are few provisions in the test for mental health issues, which can be complex and many. Add in the place where i attended had no provision for wheelchair users, so those who were wheeled in had to rebook and attend elsewhere.
Cursory sums up a lot of it, I could see the FIRE EXIT sign, bright green (I think) and very large and very near - result vision ok , they had my partially sighted register entry in front of them, my eye consultants report and my optical prescription of minus 20.
My wife has a health condition that responds favourably to a product sold in Boots for £15 for a months supply, but the product given on prescription is not as good, and the Boots product is not available on the NICE medicines list.
There is one example.
The system is deeply flawed, and secretive.
GP Margaret McCartney tried and failed...
"...to find out about the content of assessments, their evidence base, and the training and auditing of assessors....I wanted to know basic things. What medical criteria were used in assessments? How could the assessor—having no access to medical notes, test results, clinical opinions, or history—make a valid decision about whether the person was fit, or not, to work? Despite Atos’s services costing the taxpayer £100m a year, commercial confidentiality is given as the reason why the veils are persistently and firmly drawn."
As David Colquhoun points out in the rapid responses.. "Any private organisation that works for a public body should be subject to the Freedom of Information Act, just as the public body is."

@slaney I like Mgt McCartney, and she makes a fair point - especially this one;
"As David Colquhoun points out in the rapid responses.. "Any private organisation that works for a public body should be subject to the Freedom of Information Act, just as the public body is."
and they seem to discount doctors reports.
