It would seem that Scotland Yard are getting ready for the massive increase of Eastern Europeans coming to this country in the new year.

Is it right to import foreign police to take care of possible eastern European criminals, or is this proof that are our own police are now already overstretched dealing with foreign criminals, to do the job themselves?

our police are overstretched telling fibs about politicians.
What a relief. Your headline suggested I might have to register to house one of these much needed visitors to our shores or at least be their buddy.

Is the Thread title suggesting there'll be lots of Twins involved?

Are we prepared for that I wonder?

Yes.....I am all in favour........it will be like a holiday for these foreign police, as the left wing of AB have convinced me, along with certain "think tanks"(whatever they are), that the effect on the NHS, local schools and the rate of crime will be "minimal."

So welcome to the UK foreign cops and have a relaxing time.
PrepAred ! Argggg!

Don't give the EU any ideas Douglas - schoolboy error.
Yes because right now Romanians and Bulgarians can freely come to the UK as long as they don't work without a work permit

And we all know Eastern European criminals wouldn't dare come here and thieve without the proper paperwork!

Of course come January 1st any time a Romanian pick-pocket is arrested you and the Mail will be going - 'there told you so'

So I'd just like to remind you of your past stats showing Romanians as the third largest foreign nationality in our gaols today - before the change

I shall be referring you to this many times I suspect in 2014!

Oh dear has AOG dared to make a spelling mistake?

Perhaps the AnswerBank 'spell checkers' have failed to notice the many other spelling mistakes that take place on an almost daily basis by other ABers?

I wonder how this can be?
It is believed most of the criminal element is already here anyway
Our local paper had a nice story though last week about a Romanian migrant who had helped local police apprehend an indigenous miscreant.
Which made a nice change from the usual headlines elsewhere
Perfectly right to do it. We talking of intelligence links and sharing intelligence about organised crime, not some consequence of overstretched policing. It makes sense, just as British officers help foreign forces with intelligence about British football's violent hooligans, and attend foreign matches. That makes sense too. Our police have long shared intelligence about criminals from other countries.

Romanians can already come here, as said, provided they don't work. Crime pays but it doesn't require a work permit ! January the first will not alter that.
AOG, this is all a job creation scheme by the EU.

Rather than having people unemployed in Romania and other Eastern European countries they come and do jobs here.

They are now employed in the UK running our brothels, scamming people at banks, mugging people, stealing cables along railways lines, rustling sheep and so on.
Spell-checking, AOG? We make fun of each other's typing errors and mis-spelling all the time. You have such extraordinarily high standards in that regard that it makes you rare errors more noteworthy. What do you think?
VHG...LOL....LOL
^your rare^ Not ^you rare^
Rather than anticipating a massive increase, the International force has been formed to combat current levels of crime.

The formation is not any reflection on the effectiveness of the Met Police. Nor is it being formed because they are overstetched. The foreign police officers bring a skill that we do not have, their language skills. And also access to their mother country police files.
Just one example of the awful crime wave we can expect from Romanians

Let's be Fair,
it's not just a spelling mistake is it?
it's a complete misuse of the word 'pair', suggesting a lack of understanding on the part of the writer of basic English, which can, although not here, alter the meaning of a sentence and cause the reader to miss the point of a thread.
Mmmmmm, lots more cash in hand car washes to appear then.
