Watching the proceedings at the Cenotaph this morning, as I do every year.
Makes me proud to be British in ways that other occasions just can't manage.

Agreed mikey.

Jim...he always does but he is very good at explaining things. Not sure how we would manage without a commentary....without Dimbers it would be just a lot of men in black milling around. My favourite bit comes next, when the march-past starts.

You would think that Boris would have had a haircut, today of all days !
All very moving mikey4444.
Totally agree, I find it more moving every year
i choke back the tears watching this, thinking of the grandad who i never got to meet. My heart goes out to all these brave men that have passed.
Just back from our local War Memorial. There are 9 names from WW1, from a population of less than 100 at the time; it must have been devastating.
Agree wholeheartedly, mikey. Proud of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh too, still standing doing their respectful duty at their advanced ages, as are so many of those in the march past.

Jim - no - I like the explanations, I learn something new from it every year.
Totally agree with you mikey - I cry every year for our brave men and women - and am so proud to be British.
It's days like this that I don't mind paying the 34p a week for the royal family

Pre-planning is what is required hawksley !

At least he had his jacket buttoned up this time. The image of him waving that bl00dy flag around, at the 2008 Olympics will stay with for many years.
