The thing with the Canadian honours is that it would be impolite to Canada not to wear them. I doubt very much that the Palace got on to Saskatchewan and said "Our Eddie ain't got much in the gong department, how about whipping him up a few honours while he's over there?"

There is a strange protocol attached to wearing overseas medals, Mr Cake cannot wear all of his on certain occasions.

If the discussion is about members of the Royal family and medals where and why does the Princess Royal get the medals and/or the right to wear them? Her display gets more like one of those old Kremlin Generals each time she is at an official occasion. I do like and support the royal family but that gets me grumbling every time.
