He is a highly respected musician with a large fan following.

That said, he would scorn the notion of being a 'celeb' in the modern sense of the term, and it is sad to see him this situation.

He's been doing the rounds on 6music progs, promoting a new album & celebrating 50yrs in the music biz. Apparently, he was punk, before punk rock.

As the blurb says, he sang the lead vocal on Pink Floyd's music biz satire song 'Have A Cigar' and he is name-checked in a Zepelin song - 'Hats Off To Roy Harper'.

I fully appreciate the point AOG was making - but i don't think this is a subject for humour on any level - whether directed at the involved parties or not. It is not a laughing matter.
