can anyone think of a more barbaric punishment, i had no idea that it was so prevalent. I don't understand why there isn't a bigger outcry over this.

I thought punishment was to teach a lesson, doesn't teach anything when they die does it! Barbaric practices from barbaric people, cannot imagine what it could be like nor the mentality of those who do it.

They're all potty.
Question Author
agree, and look at where it happens, i am really shocked at this.... i know it goes on, but had thought it was primarily in Afghanistan, obviously not.
being killed by stoning to death for owning a mobile phone, good grief.
Question Author
they may be potty, but it would seem women are primarily the targets....
what's new about that i suppose....
The act is illegal but carried out in the name of religion. There are several hundred 'debates' in R&S on the more barbaric aspects of the Muslim religion. Good luck to Ban Ki-Moon but I think his influence is limited.
Ironically it's rather apt, because those that practice it generally belong back in the Stone Age anyway.

Why we bother trying to drag some of these animals into the 21st century often escapes me.
Question Author
chill, because if some don't they will continue on in this way, hanging or beheading men for being gay, and stoning them for alleged adulteries.
Ban ki moon seems to be a toothless tiger..
Please don't call them animals as animals live by nature and instinct, humans are supposed to be able to think and know right from wrong but some are scum and filth which to me is how they have chosen to be if religion dictates to them and they accept it.
What bothers me is that I believe that this is part of Sharia law which some are saying they would like to introduce into this country.

WR.
Question Author
dunnitall, couldn't agree more. Animals are kind in comparison with many human beings, they kill to eat, survive, many don't when the prey is not plentiful, however they don't actively go out to kill to appease some fictitious creation,
how i despise these people.
I agreeZM prevention should be the main priority.
Oops sorry wrong thread! Emmie I despise them too and their cruel ways.
Question Author
WR, Sharia law is here already, and as we have seen with Gromits post men who go around telling others how they should dress, behave, and live their lives,
I agree emmie....sounds absolutely horrible. From the link, this is just murder, not a punishment given out after a properly set up trial, but I accept your point that it is certainly barbaric. Islam is a backward religion, that still seems to exist in a medieval past. But death by hanging, electric chair, gas chamber, etc isn't exactly very nice either. All capital punishment is ghastly.
Question Author
agree about the other methods used of punishment, but since when did anyone one in UK, America and most other countries get killed by stoning because they slept with their mates girlfriend wife, or not even guilty of any misdemeanour, just a method of putting women in their place, not any kind of punishment. Killed by stoning because the poor woman had the dire misfortune to be gang raped, so she gets a double life ending punishment, hopeless.
Question Author
i saw a young Muslim woman the other day, not that is unusual of course, but she was donned entirely in burkha, gloves and all and wearing a veil, learning to drive a car, a tiny space for her to see, how on earth did it come to this here.
Extraordinary emmie but I'm not sure what it has to do with your OP. We must be carefull not to allow this post to become just a general anti-Muslim rant. We have enough of that here on AB as it has it is.
Attempting to compare this mindset to any other is futile.
Question Author
because it's a similar to same mindset, not allowing women to be themselves, dolling them up in such absurd garb all in the name of some equally absurd religion, culture. If it's their choice then so be it, not much you can do about that, however it's crept into UK whilst no one was looking.
Gromit's thread, not AOG's by the way says it all how this has come about.
Question Author
i did think it was dangerous that this woman would not have had sufficient vision whilst learning to drive.
