Absolutely - But winding up the easilly lead into vicious violent rages is exactly the tactics of people like that He leads you by the nose into one of your anti-muslim furys and you're just too angry to see it. Nothing he'd like more than for you and YMB to set fire to a few mosques I'd say Nothing messes with his agenda more than local muslims serving tea and...

Fred, I still dont see what is illegal to responding the the well documented Jihad. Yes I know there are procedures to go through and never suggested doing anything but following those.
I have not suggested violence nor setting fire to Mosques. That was Jake.
My mistake was not making it clear I was talking about rounding up the Choudry followers and closing the Mosques they use. I have no wish to intern anyone who wishes no harm to me or does not want to end my culture.
Mickey, I see you have adopted the other left wing tactic of attempting to belittle the poster you disagree with.

I have said on here before that I am a believer in free speech, so unless Choudary actually goes over the line and makes comments that could be defined as inciting violence, he is free to continue.
Fred has pointed out at 08:44 that he is careful not to go over the line and that is why he prevaricated while being interviewed by Mr Humphrys this morning. He is very dangerous but also very educated and bright.
But while I wouldn't ban him from the airwaves, I think perhaps that we shouldn't be quite so keen to invite him on every radio and TV program. The worst thing that can happen to people like Choudary is that we ignore them. Why give him the opportunity to continue to spread his dangerous drivel ?

"made a very intelligent comment about local Mosques offering tea and biscuits to the EDL...an excellent idea ! We should be building bridges. "
yeah ...meanwhile whilst theyre offering tea and biccys behind closed doors they have their agenda
take your guard down with these people and they will gain the upper hand in this country and they know it and as the taliban said we have money but they have time...and they know excatly what theyre doing to us with tha time

Because unless we do, we have no idea what dangerous drivel he is spreading. He doesn't confine his disgusting diatribe to the national media - as is evidenced by the actions of the people he is succeeding in influencing - like the killers of Lee Rigby!

YMB...it appears that I may have done you an injustice...you did not say that we should be setting fire to Mosques....an apology is due to you.
But neither did Jake, although he intimated that perhaps you had, which is what confused me.
We shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves here. We should be united .......Choudary and his like are the real enemy.

the march by Choudary and his cohorts in Brick Lane targeted Muslims who work in the area, for selling alcohol, they want them to stop selling alcohol in their businesses. That is targeting moderates as far as i can see.
hopefully they will turn a deaf ear, or just tell the man to go jump
and there have been death threats against Muslim journalists, those who do actively speak out about this skewed version of their religion.

By allowing us to fall out, Choudary has achieved his aim. People like him are rabble rouser. He is a very intelligent and educated man, who knows exactly what he is doing. We should ignore him as much as we can. When he appears on Newsnight, etc we know exactly what he is going to say....there is a zero chance of a conversion on the road to Damascus.
While I think that it was, on judgement, a reasonable idea for him to be invited on to the Today program, perhaps it will be a long time before the BBC think that we need a further dose of hatred and drivel from him again.

emmie...I don't think that anybody on here could be described as an apologist for Choudary on here this morning. We have all condemned him, in our different ways. But it isn't just him...its his ideas and they appear to be shared by a small but significant minority in Britain today. You can shut a person up but ideas are not so easy to get rid of.
