A rather telling phrase in this report:
"Our initial inquiries are to ensure the safety of the person responsible"
So says a representative of today's police "service". Of course their first priority should be to apprehend the inconsiderate scroat who jeopardised the power supplies of hundreds of people and industries and hauling him up before the Beak pronto. The fact that he might have suffered self-inflicted injuries whilst laying his filthy hands on kit that does not belong to him should be the very last of their concerns.
