This is the country we are becoming, no doubt many on here will claim it does not happen as usual, but it does happen whilst we stand by with our hands tied by lefty liberal handwringers who accuse anyone who raises the stories as little Englanders or Racists.

Well, I am already labeled as this so water of a ducks back but really I what I want to know is "what our Government is going to do about it?"

I only the read the headline but the thought occurred to me that quite a few women born in Britain are also treated as badly by their partners. Take Nigella lawson for instance.
pretty standard stuff for the ROP I'm afraid YMB, I'm surprised they are not "married" here rather than abroad under sharia anyway.

The islington set I'm sure would rather this doesn't happen but they'll ignore it as acceptable as long as the "project" is on track.
/This is the country we are becoming/

What does that actually mean?

When do these regrettable crimes come to represent our entire country?

Are the majority of British people involved in this as perpetrator or victim?

No

Or even a significant percentage - say double figures?

No

Whilst these are committed in small numbers, they are already illegal under British Law.

As with any crime, they need to be brought to the attention of the Police and the Law take its course. I don't see what the Government needs to do.

Looks like you are right TTT.
>>>Take Nigella Lawson for instance.

Yes being forced into a marriage with a multi millionaire.

Then how much did her PAs say they spent each month on credit cards - £40,000 a MONTH wasn't it?

While I don't condone what her husband at the time did I think there a MANY MANY women in the UK treated far worse than Nigella Lawson.
Wait for tales from the history books to be brought out YMB.

Yes the 'lefty liberal handwringers' that you refer to will go to any lengths to dilute these horrific happenings in our country, rather than debate on the matter in hand.
Nigella did have a choice, albeit the wrong one, so her case is irrelevant.
/will go to any lengths to dilute these horrific happenings in our country/

aog should have the basic intelligence to realise that there is no need to dilute something that is already insubstantial.

whilst we should not be complacent, there is no merit in exaggerating, over-reacting or grandstanding in order to attract applause from other right whingers.

Perhaps we would be better applying our energies to doing something about more meaningful 'horrors' which have been significant factors in our country for many, many years; child abuse and poverty for example.

O I forgot, the OP doesn't actually intend to DO anything

He just wants to whine about something related to minorities and expect 'our Government' to do it all.

Just what can I, as an individual, do about anything of this nature? I would be pilloried and reviled by the likes of you for being a little Englander and a racist.

Why is it, if I would like to see an injustice corrected that I am whining?

Clearly you think it is an acceptable practice, or more likely TTT has hit the nail squarely on the head.

And why do you always feel the need to have a go at someone's intelligence? Fine coming from you who is only capable of put downs and pious words.
So what's the answer?
"And why do you always feel the need to have a go at someone's intelligence?"

thats down to an inferiority complex brought about by what he sees as his own intelligence not actually being as superior as he likes to think it is, so he just likes to insult everybody elses , especially if you have the cheek to not agree with anything he says or god forbid have a different opinion
I agree with zeuhl. These people do not "represent" Britain. How are we "becoming" like this? It makes no sense. I'm not suggesting it's not happening, but an abuser being British doesn't mean all British are.
