Where is his father?

Why would a child of that age get dressed in his coat, gloves and shoes?

How did he manage to open a strong closing door?

Why did his mum last check him at 9pm, unless of course she went to bed herself at that early time?

//Why did his mum last check him at 9pm//

/// Isn't it usual for a mum to look in on a child during the evening? I think so. ///

I think you may have misunderstood what I put, I was trying to get over the point that I would have thought that most Mums would have checked their children immediately before they themselves went to bed.

That is why I also added "unless of course she went to bed herself at that early time"? Which you chose not to add to the rest of my question.
chewn=a troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people! summed your self up nicely!!

wherever this child is , I hope he is being cared for, I don't believe he could have dressed himself and escaped from the flat,
I would have thought that the number of times a parent checks on the children, and at what time, depends entirely upon the normal sleep behaviour of the child.

Chewn...you are now becoming tiresome and boring. Shame on you for turning this discussion about this poor little lad into a farce.

Poor wee bairn. Hope he is safe and well cared for until he is located.Must be a nightmare for his family.
I dread to think where that little boy is. Total nightmare for all concerned in that family and people that know them. Really sad .
AOG, just to clarify, in my experience most mums look in on their children during the evening – not just before they go to bed so I couldn’t see the logic in your reasoning there.
i do not usually check on my daughter after she has gone to bed - she'll soon cry or shout if she needs me.
I think he could have been abducted by some family members, as the mother has a few kids with different fathers, and I would be surprised if he was taken out of the country, passport etc.
I don't check on my kids after they've been put to bed unless they are crying or making any other noise.

I could see my 3 year old letting herself out of the house if the notion took her. We lock the door and put the key on a hook beside it that she can't reach.

But regardless of how or why it has happened, there is still a 3 year old boy missing. Even if there is foul play by a family member, there will still be innocent relations who are worried sick just now.

I hope he is found soon.

And I also cannot understand your reasoning either, so we both seem to think similar at this point.

But since you apparently still don't seem to understand my question;

*** Why did his mum last check him at 9pm, unless of course she went to bed herself at that early time? ***

Let me try and explain it now even further, if I can.

It was reported that the child's mum last saw him at 9.00pm when she put him to bed.

Now consider this:

Mother last saw her little boy at 9pm when she put him to bed, did she then check him at 9.15pm, 9.30pm, 10,00pm, 10.30pm, and then just before she went to bed herself say 11pm?

Or did she indeed last see him at 9.00pm simply because she checked him when she herself also went to bed at 9.00pm ?

/// I don't check on my kids after they've been put to bed unless they are crying or making any other noise. ///

So you don't just poke your head around their bedroom door just before you go to bed yourself, just for your own 'peace of mind'?

How strange.

I think it all depends on the layout of your home and how your child sleeps - never checked on ours, their bedroom was adjacent to the lounge and my hearing is acute.

Hope and pray he is with extended family and safe.
