Not a good outcome

So sad for the little boy and his siblings. I hope the person arrested isn't the mother (or father).

According to other sites, it's the Mother's sister, the child used to live in Kirkcaldy, he hasn't been seen in school for a month.
If I am reading Sqad's post correctly, this Auntie is a GP in Kirkcaldy. If it is unusual for a Mother to be responsible for the her child, it must be even more unusual for a Doctor to do likewise. This gets curiouser and curiouser.
Things are different under Scottish law it would seem.

/// "Under Scottish law, she can be detained initially for 12 hours during questioning and then on the say so of a senior officer can be held for another 12 hours. ///

/// "At the end of that period police must decide whether to release her, charge her or formally arrest her." ///
I am sorry to say that a lot of these type of cases, family are somewhere involved. I believe the boy's body was found at the mother's sisters house in the Fife area. The mother has been detained for questioning.
Yes very sad I think the whole nation is upset at this outcome, no matter how long a child goes missing nearly everyone hopes that there will be a happy ending and the child is found, but sadly as is often the case this very really happens.

One could hear the gasps of sadness coming from the gathered otherwise 'hard shell' reporters when the police chief announced that a body had been found.
So sad.

so much evil in this world, our children are our first priority, god bless him.
It said on the news just now that they are also looking in a wooded area adjoining the house in Fife.
So so very sad.

I thought they said it was the grandmother who is a GP.
It is the aunt's house they have cordoned off. Something didn't sound right about his disappearance and if it doesn't make sense then it usually isn't the truth!
I felt the same carole. Such a tragedy
missing from school for a month? there was a lot we were not being told
Hi Eddie. In yesterday's paper one of the neighbours said the front door to the flats was so heavy and the catch too high up for a small child to open by themselves...
It had been said in the media thoughout he hadn't been to nursery since Christmas, said as he had been ill.

Was there an appeal done by the family on the TV. I wondered as hadn't seen one but thought I might have missed it.
To be fair Eddie, it's not the public that should have all the facts and decide who is guilty or innocent. There will be 15 people sitting on a jury at some point (hopefully) who will serve the verdict based on all the facts and evidence provided.

Don't get me wrong, I hope that the person responsible for this poor wee toot loosing his life is locked up in a very small room for the rest of his/her life, but trial by internet/media just doesn't sit right with me.
Eddie, the words that the police used earlier were very carefully chosen and not varied when clarification was asked for, which raised my suspicions. It was the outcome I was expecting especially after the news about him not being seen since before christmas.
2sp I expect the post mortem will clarify the circumstances of his death :o(
I agree, jomifl, the PM will establish how he died but not why or at whose hand.
Such evil in the world. What harm can a child do to anybody?
2sp, the P.M. could prove how he died and when, which would then indicate whocaused his death.
