So terribly sad, Chill.....x
I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the the expression 'as a result of a police pursuit', presumably the driver had had the opportunity to pull over and it was his recklessness that resulted in the deaths.
It's as a result of it being necessary to have a police pursuit.
Sad as this case is, and one's heart has to go out to the families of these two unfortunate cyclists who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But are the police to be held responsible for any deaths or damage caused by 'get-away cars'?
And what's the betting the piece of scum is either on bail or has a record as long as your arm?

It is not the Polices fault in any shape or form, but terrible for the innocents caught up in it.
standard lefty approach to blame the police rather than the real cause. Why do the left love criminal scum?
We don't know yet what the driver who was being chased had done. If it was relatively minor then a chase that endangered the lives of innocent people was an overreaction.
In that case what was stopping him from pulling over and finding out why he was being pursued?
Say, as an example, he'd just burgled a house. Was it worth the deaths of two innocent people to try and catch him?
but the police didn't kill them, did they?

You'll have to take that up with the journalist who wrote the news article, I simply copied verbatim the words used in the first paragraph.
Obviously the Police are not at fault, the driver of the car that struck them is.
this article says that part is an accident black spot, i can't see any updates from the BBC

No sandy it was not worth the deaths of 2 innocents. How is that the fault of the police? They should also be charged with manslaughter.
you think the police should be charged with manslaughter?
yeah right oh emmie your on the ball.
Emile was asking a q not making a statement.
what is this? battle of the wally brains? the criminals that the police were chasing should charged with manslaughter. Does that clarify it?
the only person who should be charged is the man driving the car, who killed the two cyclists
good to see the High Court of AB has already decided the driver was scum. Where do they get their psychic powers?
i never said that, but it appears that the driver was involved in a serious domestic incident, if you read this it gives the details.
