Does this ruling mean that Scientology is a real religion now, rather than a ludicrous cult, made up by a science fiction writer ?

That's what all religions are. You might not think so, but the guys who made up the old religions were just the science fiction writers of their day.
Scientology's having a harder time expanding because people these days are more educated, and it's decided to limit it's target market to the wealthy.

"there are tax adv to being a religion and even more ( virutal tax free status ) if they get the supine Charity Commission to accept them as a charity
it is as eva with scientology - about money..."
This is what concerns me the most, and I have no doubt that Scientology are beavering away industriously behind the scenes, doing whatever they can to persuade the great and the good that they are in fact a religion and therefore worthy of tax breaks and charitable status. Such status does not rest entirely upon being recognised as a religion, of course - one has to prove other socially desirable functions first, but it is a worry.
Of course, what they could do is strip charitable status away from all religions, and force them all to re-apply for those elements of their activity they consider charitable ;)
