Four and half years that is all this thug got for killing a man, why can't such savages be made more of an example of?

if you hit someone with a brick you may not kill them, if he falls back as this chap did and cracked his head then that is the problem. I think the intent was to hurt, a blow like that could kill, it could have caused him immediate brain damage, without having fallen to the ground. Whatever the situation it's an incredibly lenient sentence
Indded em

Clearly there was 'malice aforethought'

unlike the negligence of texting while driving
i will never understand anyone who does that, tx whilst driving, talking on mobile, or doing something that takes your attention away from the road.
I don't think that anyone who punches someone can be considered 'a savage'.

I've been in fights (albeit many years ago), in which I've punched someone - but I've been lucky in that they didn't fall back and hit their head.
did you look at the footage, suggest that's a boxers type punch, meant to hurt, not a pattycake tap to warn the man off.
and i have been in the middle of some punch ups, they are horrible and frightening. one where bottles and glasses were thrown.

so he did.
/i will never understand anyone who does that, tx whilst driving, talking on mobile, or doing something that takes your attention away from the road./

I've done it

Most times it's ok and does no harm

Until the one time it isn't!
to me that's utterly reprehensible, anything can happen.
/anything can happen/

but mostly doesn't

which is why people think they can get away with it

ditto retuning the radio, the gps, lighting a fag, looking for a sweetie, slapping the kids in the back seat etc etc
BTW

these days, like many people, i have voice activated/hands free gizmos

but they still require some 'hands-on' attention

anyway, our unconscious mind does most of our driving anyway :-)
i know all of that, and having sat in the car with someone who continually chatted on a mobile whilst driving, i finally asked them not to do it, not whilst i was in the car.
actually it doesn't, your unconscious mind can make you feel safe when you are not, like the cyclists i see, no hands on the handle bars, or riding over red lights, no thoughts that they are putting themselves and others in danger.
/actually it doesn't, your unconscious mind/

actually it does

ask any driver how often they've driven a regular route with something on their mind and on arrival not been able to remember driving major parts of the journey

Thank you unconscious mind!
Unfortunately you could spend a weekend night in Bournemouth near the clubs and see people punching one another like this all the time. Luckily it doesn't usually end in such a tragic outcome, people just don't think or care.
the man was a thug, and killed a man, he should go to jail for longer, i know that won't bring the man back, but four years for taking a life, seems wrong.
Will probably receive better meals that you or I.
We are becoming more and more "civilised"..............
keyplus, as opposed to who.
