We have strategic and economic reasons for wishing to ensure stability in the zone, and as a member of the international community we should have an opinion on external incursions into sovereign countries.
Added to that, we are the 7th largest global economy, and have the 5th/6th most powerful military muscle. Of course we should have an opinion, and should get involved in diplomatic initiatives.
