This is disgusting, what would have been said if some of the gang who killed Stephen Lawrence had been paid and also granted immunity in return for giving evidence against the pair who were later convicted of his murder?

So, with reference to your second thread, seeing as the PC Blakelock case, do you think that seeing as it's been 29 years since his murders, the accused are unlikely to get a fair trial.

And regarding the first thread, do you think that with so much time and effort expended, not to mention the £50,000 the police had to pay Silcott for malicious prosecution, we should let it rest?

Thank you for reminding me of what I said, and yes I hold my hands up and admit that was my feelings at the time, but since then two killers have at least been accused and sent down for the offence, yet we have not seen the same apply in PC Blakelock case, where there were even more suspects attached to his killing.

The same thoughts as I had regarding the Stephen Lawrence case, although there has been more evidence of the killing of the PC, that I wonder why no one, if not many are not now rotting in a prison cell.

In this case no, because I suspect there is more to this case, and there has not been any closure over it, perhaps the widow and family could have been more campaigning in their ways, it seems to have worked in the other case.

regrettably, it does seem that family members making a fuss may get better results. I say 'regrettably' because it shouldn't work this way, the police should do their job regardless of whether grieving relatives tell them to or not. But in these two cases in particular, they failed to do so.
