If only there were some sort of anti-British law whereby we could have these two vile creatures removed from these islands.

TCL, Here we have a woman convicted on terrorist related charges and who would probably happily see you dead - and you defend her 'right' to hide not only from the authorities, but from law-abiding society. I despair of some people .... I really do. Radical Islamists are laughing at people like you.

They are BRITISH.
So they are entitled to have passports. Whether they have purchased a passport is irrelevent, but if they have one, it will say they are British.
Even if they do not have passports they are STILL British.
I have not deemed that they consider themselves British anywhere on this thread. They just are, whether they like it or not.

I am still looking for those posts of Gromits where he supports or defends these people. Is that one where he categorically condemns their actions?
And I am still waiting for someone to explain quite why Gromits observation regarding the deportation of British citizens is either feasible or legal? Just because you might find it desirable does not make it plausible to do so. Where would you deport them to?
As Mojo said on the very first page - they are british citizens, so a british problem and are being dealt with in a british way - by being jailed in a british prison. All sounds eminently fair and reasonable to me.

Yes, they are British citizens in the eyes of the law, which is why I created a post with the first sentence: If only....
Miscreants like this do not deserve the sanctuary these Islands affords to so many, hence I would like to see them removed. It's a wish for future statutes if you will.
Whether they deem themselves as British is a different matter entirely and I seriously doubt they do.
I just wanted clarification from Gromit about their passports, as he claimed they were in possession of such articles. Very insightful of him, I must say.

Well I can understand the desire, but I just cannot comprehend how it could be achieved. I mean, where would you deport them to? We used to be able to send them to the colonies, but that is not really a viable option today.
In the absence of that, sentencing him/them to jail time seems to be the proper response. I am just somewhat flabberghasted at these attacks on Gromit as being a terrorist sympathiser or supporter. Nothing in his posts has ever suggested that to me.

Nearest Muslim country. Barnes offered a cash and car reward for: "Any1 who kills an invading soldier in Muslim land".
If it means so much to him, let him have a go at following the courage of his convictions and doing it himself on Muslim soil.
Whenever he finishes his sentence he'll undoubtedly be welcomed with open arms at one mosque or another, let's make it elsewhere, eh?

How do we know this is really Rebekah Dawson?

And how would you persuade the "nearest muslim country" to take him? Why should they? Actually, what is the nearest muslim country? Morocco?

We give millions of £'s to Pakistan year on year. I'm sure they'd not complain if we tied in giving them one of our Muslims as part of the deal, a Muslim who had recently had his citizenship rescinded as a result of a conviction for breaking new laws implemented recently.
As I said, hope springs eternal......

I don't see why it should count as a problem, or as something to criticise, to point out that the idea of deporting people to a country that they may have no connections to is just not going to happen. Nor is it clear to me that it makes things better. "Here, you have this riff-raff, and we picked your country because of some idea that you think the same way" -- how does that make anything better? More likely to just stir up yet more hatred.
People like this are vile, and it's sad and horrific that we have to put up with them. But put up we should... tolerance is worth it in the end.

A British Muslim couple were sentenced to jail on Friday for posting "offensive" YouTube videos that glorified the killing of Fusilier Lee Rigby.
Rebekah Dawson, 22, and her husband Royal Barnes, 23, uploaded three videos to the site soon after the murder of Rigby, for which Barnes was jailed for five years and four months, having pleaded guilty to three counts of disseminating a terrorist publication and one of inciting murder at the Old Bailey.
Dawson, who wore a veil in court, also admitted to charges of disseminating a terrorist publication, for which she received a sentence of 20 months.
"
why was she allowed to wear a veil in court. Its ludicrous.
@ Emmie You attack posters here, presumably, by claiming that they are "defending these people". Which individuals here do you see as apologists, and what is it exactly that you are accusing them of being apologists for?
Lets have a bit of clarity here ,rather than just a generalised grumbling that, just because someone points out some inconvenient fact of law or nationality or posits an alternative view that they are automatically apologists or anti-British.

Exactly! Surely the criticism is that they do not tolerate such things. So, intolerance is therefore the wrong attitude. So we should be tolerant... up to a point, of course. We should not tolerate crime, or terrorism, or violence, and such should be dealt with. Deporting people to another country that potentially they have no connection to is just not going to happen. I do not see that I, or anyone else, should be criticised for pointing that out.
