Has Maria Miller Resigned Yet ?
Apparently even Tebbit has suggested that she resign. I realise that the whiff of brimstone doesn't have quite the effect it used to have, but I'm sure his opinion still has some weight attached to it. Never thought I would agree with the Chingford Skinhead but I can't quite see how dave is being helped in his task to get ahead of Labour in time for next years Election, until he lances this boil once and for all. I also understand, from what somebody was saying in the barbers this morning, that the DM have called for her to go.
Surely this can't go on ?

This leaves the impression that MPs are united in defending their own interests, despite the existence of the coimmissioner for standards. Which they are because the latter can only recommend.

It is asserted that the reason the amount to be repaid should be changed was because of new evidence presented to committee by Ms Miller after the report and their judgement showed some pertinent facts - or something.
And yes, people may be making public statements about her need to resign that motivated by more than just her actions and the details of the case - but when Conservative Grassroots starts making comments like these;
"Maria Miller is a totemic example of the modern political class who hold no discernible character, talent or integrity – the grassroots of the Conservative party have no time for careerist politicians who not only do not support, but flagrantly oppose, Conservative values once they are comfortably settled in parliament and cabinet."
I would have serious questions about staying in post.
As to the overall issue - The MP expenses scandal has tainted politicians and further reduced their trustworthiness in the eyes of voters. It is an utterly toxic issue.
Unyet they still refuse to submit to a fully independent regulatory system. The 3 lay members ( non-MPs) of the 13 -strong committee on parliamentary standards are denied a vote on the finalised report.

actually, most MPs didn't cheat on their expenses. They had an absurdly generous system in place, paid for by me, but they stayed within it. Some of the more famous claims were rejected at the time.
Miller seems to be different. As far as can see, she made money at my expense and MPs are saying she can keep most of it. I think she's cheated.
