I must confess to not really understanding this question either, but assuming it's about Gerry Adams, I'd say 4 things, one of which I mentioned before
The evidence, in so far as we know it, would be unlikely to be used in an actual trial.
It was right that he should have been hauled in for questioning, and probably inevitable, conspiracy theories aside, that he would be released
"Dark forces" probably are at work here. Probably on the dissident republican side
It is possible for someone to be a killer and also a peacemaker. Sometimes the most effective peacemakers have to be those who were in a war. No one is all good or all bad. it's just the way life is.
