They're separatists, I think. Xinjiang is one of China's more contested territories.

when watching the Beijing Olympics i was very surprised at the amount of different peoples that comprise that term Chinese, i confess i don't know enough about them or that some want to break away, separatists as you say, but to bomb, murder indiscriminately is not the answer as we see in other parts of the world.
