// Nigel Farage has suggested he is prepared to do a deal with Conservatives ahead of the next election if they surrender working class seats in Essex and Kent.
Mr Farage said that if he was David Cameron, he would offer to give up 30 seats where the Tories are currently trailing behind Labour to give Ukip a clear run.
In exchange, he suggested that Ukip could agree not to fight the Conservatives in marginal seats in more affluent, middle-class areas such as Dorset. //

It would be certain death for dave if he did this. At least he can lose next May's election with his honour intact but to take Farage's shilling would forever be to his lasting shame. But this shows how desperate UKIP are.
That is what this country needs to sort it out, a Tory/UKIP coalition.
The blind leading the blind !

Nigel and Boris maybe?
Sounds like a comedy double act to me Baldric !
Gromit...any link to go with your post ?

Out come the usual nasty left remarks.
But what could he possibly offer in return, other than allowing UKIP to have win a seat or two? The country simply wouldn't accept Farage as deputy PM.
Be interesting to know the exact circumstances of this and the context of the quite Gromit so any link much appreciated.

The blind leading the blind
A situation where someone is trying to show someone else how to do something which they do not know how to do themselves,

Not really nasty imo it has an element of truth!
It matters little really because Labour looks set to lose the next election, according to one of their own.

/// The Tories are on course to win an overall majority at the next election because Ed Miliband is a worse leader than Neil Kinnock, a former Labour Home Secretary has warned. ///

Thanks AOG, You beat me to the link.

The Coalition with the Liberals was helpful to Cameron because it helped to keep the Euro Skeptics in his party muted.

A coalition with UKiP would be a terrible idea for Cameron. The Euro Skeptics would be enbolded by the UKIPers and would cause havoc.
Very generous of Farage and UKIP, a party with not a single MP, to offer a pact with the party who is currently in power.

Maybe Farage wants to ensure they do get at least a couple of seats at the next election.

Cant see Cameron agreeing to this.
Does any body seriously think that the Tory Party would consider giving up running candidates in 30 seats ? They, and the Labour Party have always fought in all seats, not just the ones where they have a certain chance of winning. Its would be unheard of.

If Farage wants to win a single seat in Westminster, he needs to do it off his own back and with his own supporters, not steal them from other parties. This is madness !
"Fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists."
Weren't these the words David Cameron used to describe UKIP? Well, on the basis of the old saying about 'birds of a feather', maybe a liaison between the parties might not be so improbable!
Don't be daft QM ! The Tory Party hasn't got nearly as many fruitcakes, loonies, and closet racists as UKIP ! It has some I grant you but not really enough to make an alliance work.
