Tesco is now a publicly-quoted company, one of the FTSE-100. It's owned by our pension funds and other financial institutions. Saying it's a Jewish company because one of its founders was Jewish is as daft as suggesting that Marks and Spencer or Mothercare are Jewish because some of their founders were.
That said, the store needs a bit of a talking-to in this case. The person (man or woman, the article says both?) who refused to serve may be entitled to do so by their terms of employment - who knows? But they should have been moved away from a customer-facing position for the period. That's just good management.
