It depends what industries you're talking about. I work in IT, and in where we recruit from abroad 100% of the applicants we take on have the required skills in the specific fields we look at. But the company I work for is in an extremely specialised field - and the pool of talent we can pick from in the UK is just too small.

I cannot comment on immigrants generally - it's just too wide a demographic.
