2sp, not only are the residents of Scotland not electing Salmond king, they're not even electing him Prime Minister or anything else! The referendum on September 18th isn't an "election" at all. It's a 'choice', but not an 'election' in the usual sense of that word.
As I pointed out earlier in this thread and often elsewhere, in the event of a 'Yes' vote, there will at some point be a general election in Scotland to choose a party of government. That may be the SNP, but it may very well not.
Far too many people seem to think that it's all about Salmond's personality or suitability as a leader. It isn't.
