The polls have not changed in a year. The 'No' to independence has been 20 points ahead for most of the year.

When Salmond is defeated, the SNP will be a bit wounded going into a general election.

Yes, jomifl, why would he have to find a new job. He is the elected First Minister of Scotland no matter what the outcome of the independence vote.

I for one want the vote to be 'No'.

I like Scotland and I don't like the idea of Scotland 'going it alone'.

Ideally, the 'No' vote would win, but it would be fantastic if they could also vote for a ban on Lulu singing, 'Shout' whenever a microphone appeared anywhere near her mouth.

may i repeat.................no one is voting for alex salmond, nor is he the only politician in Scotland. and whatever way the vote goes, I doubt he will be receiving JSA.

Even if the 'No' votes win they wont accept it (like the EU does not accept a vote it does not like) and the divisions will continue and will probably grow.

The best thing for all parties is for the Yes to win, thus enabling all parties to move on and drive a good future for themselves.

Since the purpose of the scotnats is to leave the UK, if it doesn't happen this time it will be a long wait for the next opportunity, so he ('eck)might as well find something else to do...Although I suppose he could carry on (with bad grace) in his present job for lack of anything meaningful to do.
