What I said and stand behind is, war is hell and unfortunately civilians are victims of political conflicts. We, The United States, certainly know this as 69 years later we still feel the guilt of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The media, as usual, has decided to only quote the most out of context and inflammatory non sequitur rather than giving an accurate account of what my intentions were behind the statement. Along with every other sane person in this world, I am praying for peace. It is stupid and wrong and I am tired of bearing the brunt of attacks by people who want to sell newspapers or gain ratings by creating a scandal about me that is non-existent.”

I am quite happy to believe the link that I posted sandy. She has now changed her story because she realised that her big mouth has got her into trouble again. As to Facebook, when was this ever taken seriously ? I understand that she is just about to start a British tour, which is probably the main reason why she has back-tracked on her outburst at LA Airport.
At the very least she hasn't been helpful. Instead, she has poured petrol on a blazing fire. She should stick to her "comedy" routine, which, by the way, hasn't changed in years. Ghastly old bat.

OK, I don't find it unacceptable even if she did say it - that' because she's Joan Rivers and has built her whole comedic carreer by saying totally outrageous things about a multitide of topics that will have undoubtedly offended various people over the years. It's what one expects from her and either you find her outrageously funny (like me) or you don't. She's not a politician so she can say what she wants.
Ummmm...her remarks at the Airport have been widely publicised.....I have no reason not to believe them. If you read my link, you will see that she is not denying that she used the words, just that they were "taken out of context" ::::

So I ask again, in what context were we supposed to take her assertion that the ones that died had very low IQ ?
It was an intemperate and ignorant outburst, and it now appears that she is trying to back-track, for commercial reasons.
Sometimes AB amazes me...isn't there anybody else who thinks her remarks were unacceptable ?
