In the first place I'm not a leftie, at least not in the sense that would make me a target of this post. I've argued on this site in the past for early intervention of some form in Syria, and also for intervention against the Islamic State.

So no I'm not suggesting a cuddle. I'm just saying that I'm slightly surprised that this post going from describing unspeakable tragedies to "idiot lefties" somehow being the more important people to criticise. Especially when it's not just the Left who are calling for not intervening. Matthew Parris made the case for keeping out of it yesterday and he is very much right-wing.

What an extraordinary mixed-up post ! I'm what most people would describe as left-wing, having voted labour at the last election, along with millions of others, 8,606,517 to be precise. And yet because of that I am supposed not to care about the IS atrocities !

I think the whole free world should be doing more to help the innocent people who are suffering at the hands of the ISIS terrorists, and whether its right or left wing has absolutely nothing to do with it. Post more coherently in the future.
