Tilbury Docks Illegal Immigrants
I have just listened to Channel 4 TV news. Apparently all surviving illegal immigrants have applied for Asylum in this country. No surprise there then is there? It is claimed,by a Sikh spokesman, who lives in Southall, that all the illegal refugees have relatives living in Southall and had probably told them that Great Britain was a "welcoming and accomodating country". For that you can interpret as "Great Britain is a soft touch who will supply you with all you ask for paid for by the generous British taxpayers". It was also stated that Afghanistan had become more stabilised and thus a legitimate exit visa was more difficult to come by and that is why they chose the ILLEGAL path !!!
So in the words of ymb.Can you lentil crunching leftie hand wringing Islington set justify their illegal entry into this country ?
In the words of one of their own Sikhs living in Southall..(A) They came to Great Britain because they already have relatives here. (B) They were probably told of our generous handouts to those who are NOT entitled to in the first place. (C ) As Afghanistan is becoming more stable it is more difficult to obtain a exit visa as they are not endangered and fleeing for their lives as persecuted people. It rather shoots out the water the theory that they must be desperate to risk their lives to better themselves in this country IMO. If they were that desperate ,due to persecution in Afghanistan, they would of been very glad to seek asylum in the first European country who would grant them safety and refuge regardless of family ties in this country. Incidentally. I have also learnt that an ambulance call out costs the taxpayer £221 each. These illegals had a fleet of them at their disposal. They got their health checks at great cost to the NHS now do as the Canary Isles do. Put them on a boat straight back where they came from and let them feel grateful that they were not sent back in a sealed container. Forget costly immigration asylum processing and appeals. Just send them back where they come from. Other European states can do it and then so can we.

But they were not "so desperate". They were in Belgium, a member of the EU, a signatory to the ECHR and, when I last visited, a fairly agreeable place. Their desperation was not to escape oppression or torture - they'd already done that. Their desperation was to reach what they perceived to be the land of milk & honey.
The fact that they have friends and relatives here is just too bad. They can claim asylum in the first safe country in which they arrive (which most certainly was not Belgium in this case) and then apply via official channels to come to the UK.
The French and Belgians have themselves to blame for being the last staging post for those trying to reach the Promised Land. They signed up to the preposterous Schengen agreement which saw their already flimsy borders with other EU countries abandoned entirely. This effectively gave them a border with (among others) Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey. It also provides France with an insecure border with Italy. One hundred thousand "refugees" have landed on the Italian island of Lampedusa this year so far. They have not landed there because it is a nice place to spend a few weeks. They went there because it is one of the closest landing points to north Africa and once there they know that nothing can prevent them moving north to the destination of their choice. These are not asylum seekers they are migrants moving away from their homelands because they are cess pits and the UK has no room or facilities for them.
Make no mistake, with numbers such as these mainland Europe is enduring an invasion. The invaders may not have guns and tanks but their long term effect will be every bit as profound as if they had. Their upkeep will be prohibitively expensive and will alter the living standards and way of life for millions of Europeans. There is no reason why the UK should take part in this farce by allowing people who have made it to mainland Europe illegally to settle here and it needs to be made known that we will not tolerate illegal entries.

I would reign in your pity a bit you seem to show it in excess.
I would save your pity for the indigenous population of this country who face overwhelmed doctors and queues for urgent surgery. For our children who go to school in a class of 70 others where most do not speak English but several other different tongues. The lack of housing which denies our kids a step on the property ladder. I pity this country for being dragged back into the Stone age. I pity this drug riddled city I live in where crime is rife and committed by yardie gangs who shoot innocent by standers with irresponsible abandon. Save your pity for this country.

/// no damage was done to any Sikh owned shops, why? because the owners brought out chairs and sat in the entrances wielding their swords, - the mob made a sharp exit. ///
If anyone else had done the same they would have been arrested for carrying a dangerous weapon, with the intent to do harm.

For your own safety and liberty I suggest you brush up very quickly on the old Prevention of Crimes Act 1954 or the newer statutes re possession of offensive weapons in a public place which includes shop doorways where the public have access. A folding penknife with a blade exceeding 2/12" is illegal.Lock Knives are illegal. We have not yet been dragged back into a banana republic but we do not want to see sword/cleaver wielding savages marching along our high streets. Learn our Law and abide by our rules or find somewhere else to go. Swords are Ok hanging on the walls of your own property as long as they STAY THERE!!!

This from the link I earlier provided.
/// We are told they are all Afghan Sikhs fleeing Taliban persecution and they were attracted here because of the ‘thriving and established Afghan Sikh community in London’. There is also a thriving Sikh community in India, right on Afghanistan’s doorstep. So why didn’t they flee there? ///

Brilliant.

No Sikh has "Marched down our streets wielding swords." They sat calmly ready to defend themselves there families and their property if self-defence became necessary.
'Self-defence is part of private defence, the doctrine in English law that one can act in ways that would otherwise be illegal to prevent injury to oneself or others, or to prevent crime more generally. One has the same right to act to protect others as to protect oneself. This defence arises both from common law and the Criminal Law Act 1967. Self-defence in English law is using reasonable force against an unjust threat.'
What I am saying is that Sikhs are good respectable, hard-working people, and if I could choose between 'illegal' Sikhs and some of the 'legal' criminal pond-life entering the UK daily, I would prefer Sikhs.

Baldric,
Khandro has just waded through English Common law and the Criminal Law Act.
I don't think he has yet read thoroughly the law on offensive weapons.

You stated earlier they sat in the doorways of their premises with swords. Those doorways provide access and egress to the public. It is a place where the public have access. ILLEGAL
If you are in your premises with the closed sign up and the doors locked with your family and a rampaging ,rioting mob entered your premises and you feared for yours and your family's life then you may have a case of self defence if you used the sword to protect your family if no more force was used than necessary and the defence was proportionate to the threat. You cannot have a sword in a public place !! As baldric says try it.

.... and it wasn't only swords, and it wasn't only Sikhs, but there seems to be little mention of the Brits, - funny that!

How can I answer that I am not a mind reader? You did not state that either way on your post. You said they sat in the doorway of their shop with a sword. It makes no difference if the premises are closed or not if the public have access to the doorway you are sitting with your sword. Do you actually live in this country khandro ? It is exactly the same scenario if if Mr Singh sat outside in the doorway of his locked premises cradling a sawn off shotgun or any shotgun come to that. Same scenario. Different weapon thats all. Sikhs may have got themselves exempted from wearing motorcycle protective helmets under British Law but are not exempted from possessing weapons in a place where the public have access. I have 3 high powered full bore target rifles. They are securely locked in an approved safe and the 7.62mm and 5.56mm ammo and rifle bolts are stored in separate safes. They are legally licensed firearms held under Sec 1 Firearms act. I would no more wander down the high street with them openly displayed over my shoulder than fly to the moon. I would have every FRT car in the police area descend on me with guns drawn. Weapons of any kind are not to be displayed by members of the public, in public, in this country Khandro. You attempt it and it could be your last post in more ways than one.
Retro, to partially answer your question about Khandro's residency in UK

Just read the thread of your last post. It does'nt matter what other country you come from or what weapon you are brandishing our laws should be obeyed. It might be acceptable in Ankara but not here. It is a form of vigilantism which does have some merit imo but it is still contrary to British law.
I had to laugh when a Turk says an Englishman's home is his castle and he has the right to defend it. Tell that to Mr Martin, a Norfolk recluse, who shot two travellers who were burgling his home in the dead of night. He did a few years in prison and he was an ENGLISHMAN defending his castle.

If you read another recent news post (today) it will tell you about an innocent 24yr old nursery teacher gunned down and killed with her friend wounded in Kilburn High Road by a rival drug cartel in a gun battle. Like wise a small Sri Lankan toddler shot and paralysed in her uncles shop in Stockwell by a gang of drug dealers. Another innocent caught in the crossfire. Daily drive -by shootings in Croydon. So regular they hardly get reported in the local press. A family terrorised in their house by Polish thugs who beat the father black. That was last week in Wimbledon.Take your rose tinted spectacles off and save your pity for these victims. That was three incidents I can rattle off straight away and are all recent.I have only mentioned the law and order problem. Do you want me to spell out the NHS and Educational problems we have in this country as well. I have'nt really got the time or inclination to try to explain it all to some one who is cosseted in their own little cocoon. Get your nose out of The Watchtower and try and read what is going on in a city near you NOW in an informative newspaper and then you might wake up and smell the coffee.
