After a good lunch I like to kick of my shoes and have a cigarette with my coffee. Just because they're in prison doesn't mean they should be deprived of some simple pleasures.
Prisoners can complain !!!!!!!! Try eating in hospital, they would cheer when it's taken away.
Aren't they lucky, there are a lot of Pensioners out here eat fec all.

well said twr
If the prison is failing to comply in a given area they should be called to account. It's called transparency.
Question Author
If people dont like it they shouldnt break the law far too much pandering going on
'' its called transparency '' is it, how ?
I agree with the complainant. Under no circumstances should anyone be forced to undertake physical exercise so soon after a heavy lunch. The very least they could offer would be a double espresso with a double cognac followed by 90 mins of kip.

packed lunch in the exercise yard,,,,,,problem solved . ( a wee picnic )
@ anneasquith

By transparency I was referring to the prison's own standards and procedures. The integrity is where on receipt of a complaint, the relevant authority has investigated and in this case upheld it.
PC freezing on link. What does it say please?
An inmate complained that there was insufficient time to eat lunch before the exercise break at 1pm. Several complaints were made by this person and the prison acknowledged a failure to act, as confirmed by the watchdog.
Had lunch and an opportunity to exercise? Lucky so and so.
What ever next I wonder. They are not starving on the streets - they have three good meals a day and a bed and a roof over their heads and costing them nothing. We are so soft, sometimes I wonder what is wrong with us.
A prisoners punishment is "being deprived of his/her liberty", not being deprived of decent food.
Potentially, anybody could have a bad experience as a visitor to a prison.

The same watchdog could be investigating YOUR complaint about the prison and rule in your favour, or would you rather not have that option?
Nobody is suggesting that Ratter, merely commenting that many not in jail do not have the same care.
Exactly, Daisy.

Ratter,
no one is depriving anyone of food, the complaint is about timing of meal breaks and exercise periods according to the link!
That's maybe DaisyNonna but we are talking about assurances here that the prison gave and did not follow through, hence the complaint was upheld. Ironically, it's called discipline.
