This 5 Year Old - Removed From Hospital
84 Answers
The kid has a brain tumour - his parents have removed him from hospital and have taken him to France......surely that is their legal right? The hospital has triggered an enormous police search on either side of the Channel.
I am not debating the right or wrongs of this, though it's coming to light that they may well be Jehovahs (with an Islamic name for the kid), just questioning the legality of the hospital to impose without a court order.

Just guessing from the reports and pictures of the child.
The commonest brain tumour in children is a glioma....nasty, malignant and usually fatal. The child as far as we know hasn't had surgery, probably because the tumour is inoperable and incurable.
Parents have removed him either on humanitarian grounds or to seek alternative treatment elsewhere.
I may be well off the mark.

The fact that he has had surgery makes the JW issue completely irrelevant IMO. He has ongoing medical issues, can't speak, can't move and can't eat by mouth. Doesn't really look like he'll return to a full life, I quite understand why his parents might take him off with the rest of his family. It's about quality of life and unless we were in their shoes and knew the facts we can't criticize.
The little boy had an operation only seven days ago. Surely a hospital has to be the best place for him to recover . The parents must be mad to do drag him and six other children across into France. It will be interesting to know just why they have done this.I hope the little boy survives his ordeal.
